Q: When should I use the simulation?
A: Hospital Escape SIM simulations are designed to be flexible and fit multiple needs. It can be used for classroom enhancements, a ticket to laboratory, classroom, or clinical experiences, clinical preparation, clinical replacement, and remediation.

Q: How long will it take to receive the shipment?
A: 10-14 business days

Q: How many scenarios should I order?
A: This product is designed for students to work in groups of 2. It can be used individually as well.

Q: Can this product be used for clinical replacement?
A: Yes, INASCL guidelines were followed in development of this product. Follow your state boards of nursing for specific guidelines/rules for clinical replacement details.

Q: How many hours will this take?
A: Total time 4.5 to 10.5 hours. Assign the pre-brief activities the day prior to the simulation experience. Average time for student preparation is 2 to 4 hours. Set up and preparing students for the simulation experience is approximately 30 minutes. The scenario experience is 1 hour. Debriefing can range from 2 to 4 hours.

Q: Why low-fidelity / paper pencil?
A: Nursing is a hands on profession. So much of students learning is technology based. Experiences like Hospital Escape SIM focus on communication, collaboration, problem solving, time management, and clinical judgment.

Q: Do I as a faculty member need to prepare?
A: Hospital Escape SIM facilitator packet has all of the answers to the student questions with rationales for you to help students debrief.

Q: How do I grade my students?
A: The students need to respond to the questions in order to obtain the correct lock box codes to progress in the scenario. Because of the design of Hospital Escape SIM, the students need to scratch off answers in the packets. If wrong responses are chosen, students will not be able to progress in the scenario. The students will complete the student debriefing packet once the 1 hour time for the scenario laps. The responses to the questions will give the instructor insight to how and what the students were thinking during the scenario process.

Q: How do I change the passcode of the lock bags?
- Put the dial 0-0-0
- Using a tool, press down on the reset button on the top of the lock unit until you here a click sound
- Set the dials to the desired combination
- Push the button on the side of the lock unit in toward arrow (the reset button will then click back into place)
